DISCOVER OUR COMMUNITIES ONLINE
To create experiences that change lives
Our mission is to inspire and prepare students to face up to some of the most serious challenges of our present and future. We believe that empathy – not just academic knowledge – is the “magic” , often under-emphasised, ingredient in equipping students with the ideas, experience and conviction they’ll need to become responsible global citizens, and moreover, agents of positive change.
In so doing, we hope to plant seeds of hope and expectation that, together, we can build a kinder, fairer world.
Planet + People + Profit
MAD Travel programs begin by encouraging students to gain a greater appreciation for our environment and the need to protect it.
By spending time with our community partners, students gain a snapshot of life from their perspective. In doing so, we create the possibility for longer-term collaborations based on mutual respect and understanding.
Why the Philippines?
We believe that the best way to learn about sustainability is to complement in-class theoretical knowledge with on-the-ground learning activities which enable students to understand the challenges from a holistic perspective: people, profit, planet.
MAD Travel’s educational programs are unique in the Philippines because they offer students the ff:
- Authentic interactions with a range of our partner communities and destinations
- A network of social entrepreneurs offering workshops and collaboration opportunities
- The opportunity to contribute to ambitious sustainability, literarcy, and community-oriented objectives and achieve long-term impact
- An engaging curriculum taught by a dynamic team of communicators

This is the challenge: how can we use art to dream new and hopeful futures for the natural world we live in? Last July, we went to San Felipe, Zambales with @madtravel_ph and five manila-based artists to interact with the members of the Yangil Tribe and see their area that could be a forest in the future. This project was designed not only to promote and raise awareness, but to gain allies. Be part of #FutureForest soon! 🎥 by @tiiinv

Time is running out, but we can do something about it. For the Forest is a Filipino-focused project that offers anyone from anywhere the chance to fund the reforestation efforts in Yangil, Zambales- the lands owned by the Indigenous Aeta Tribe of Yangil. A land once ravaged by the infamous eruption of Mt. Pinatubo and changed the lives of those who depend on the environment forever. Through restoring their lands, we hope to better their livelihoods, as well as contribute our part to battle the climate crisis. In restoring their lands we create a sustainable livelihood for the tribe, a carbon sink to fight the climate crisis, and an oasis for the wildlife to thrive once more. Our goal is to raise Php 1,000,000.00 (USD 19,500.00) for these reforestation efforts! As George Monbiot said, Nature is a way to fix our broken climate. Nature is a way to better the lives of those who depend on the environment as a way of life. We believe there's hope when we act. So this is our way of making action easily accessible. It's simple.
